Cumberland Community Prayer Dinner

  • Merrylands RSL Australia (map)

The Cumberland Community Prayer Dinner is a time for us to come together as a community to pray for unity, peace, and blessings for our neighbourhoods and our leaders. It's an opportunity for us to join hearts and minds in a spirit of Christian fellowship and prayer. During the evening we will have the opportunity to:

·       hear prayers and musical items;

·       be inspired by guest speaker Angela Shanahan, a Canberra-based freelance journalist and mother of nine children. She has written regularly for The Australian for over 20 years, The Spectator (British and Australian editions) for over 10 years, and formerly for the Sunday Telegraph, the Sydney Morning Herald and the Canberra Times. For 15 years she was a teacher in the NSW state high school system and at the University of NSW. Angela’s areas of interest are family policy, social affairs and religion. She was an original convener of the Thomas More Forum on faith and public life in Canberra;

·       meet and socialise with church and community members;

·       eat a two-course meal and enjoy complimentary soft-drinks.

Tickets cost $50 and can be reserved by registering online at: https://www.cognitoforms.com/HNLC1/_2024CumberlandCommunityPrayerDinnerRSVP
