Regular Activities AND MINISTRIES

Weekly Prayer & Coffee

Weekly prayer for church ministers and leaders, Thursdays 8am over ZOOM (please contact the office for the ID and passcode). For more than twenty years we have continued to pray within the parameters of 1 Tim 2:1-4 (I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone-- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.  This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.) So, we carefully focus on Council, local authorities – politicians, the Police, SES, etc - churches, leaders, schools, aged care ministries, etc.  Come and join our time of collective prayers and intercession!

Followed by coffee at Grind & Co in Pemulwuy from 9:15am Thursdays.

Monthly Meetings and Lunches

On the third Tuesday of each month the local ministers meet together for either a bi-monthly meeting, or lunch in the off-month. The ministers' fellowship meetings begin at 11.30am (location New Life Church offices, 106A Jersey Rd, Greystanes) and include a devotional, discussion of topics relevant to ministering together in the local community, planning for coming combined events, and planning for local Council-related events. On the alternate month we meet together for lunch from noon to 1.30 at the Coolibah Hotel Bistro on Sherwood road in Merrylands West.

SRE (Special Religious Education)

HCMF oversees Scripture in our five local high schools and liaises with the extensive program in the 18 primary schools of our district. It's a combined churches ministry. See the SRE webpage for more information..

Combined Services and Celebrations

Representatives from many churches gather together three times a year to commission (in February) our SRE representatives in the schools, celebrate Pentecost Sunday, and pray together in August at our Prayer Dinner. More details on the Coming Events webpage.

Chapel and Chaplaincy Ministry

Undertaken by a roster or ministers into retirement villages in the district. Cardinal Gilroy Village and its smaller hostel in Greystanes receive weekly chapel. Merrylands Care, Allity Care and Genista receive monthly chapel. Ministers are available for personal chaplaincy matters upon request.

Council Prayers and Citizenship Ceremony Participation

Conducted in conjunction with Cumberland Council. We seek to conscientiously work with Community groups (including Holroyd Police LAC) and Council for the ongoing benefit of the quality of life in our district.

World Day of Prayer

Each year, on the first Friday in March, one of the local churches hosts the annual World Day of Prayer. See the WDOP website to find out which church is hosting next: https://www.worlddayofprayeraustralia.org/
